Parts Feeder

It is a type of workpiece alignment supply device that makes a workpiece to have certain direction and posture so that a robot can handle the workpiece in the insert molding automation system.

There are two types of vibrating parts feeders: ball type round vibrating feeders and straight vibrating feeders. In general, many feeders are a combination of a ball type and a straight type.

First, set the direction and posture with various feeders, and then arrange and transport a workpiece to a position where robots, etc. can easily grasp it with a straight feeder and conveyor. There are two methods for judging direction and posture: a mechanical method using the difference in appearance or center of gravity of the workpiece, and a method of judging the phenomenon with various sensors.

In the past, the shape of the ball and the arrangement of sensors were fixed according to individual workpiece, so it was necessary to re-manufacture the entire device when changing a workpiece. A system that can respond by switching (without changing parts) has also been developed. Recently, due to the spread of image processing methods and various industrial robots, a system that can respond to workpiece with similar size and phenomenon by program switching (without changing parts) has also been developed.

In the era of fierce product competition, the mass production by improving productivity and reducing manufacturing cost is the sure secret for company's profit increase.

The parts feeder system, an automatic parts alignment feeder, was developed in response to the environmental needs of the times. Continuous productivity improvement and manufacturing cost reduction could be easily achieved by fully automating the supply of parts that was manually performed conventionally.
